Hello, I will buy a Mac Pro today but I have one doubt.

Now I have these speakers, Creative ProGamer G500, but only have 3 input cables (green, black and orange) without optical input.
¿Can I use my speakers in 5.1 mode with the MacPro? (I will probably run Windows, because I will put a Geforce 8800GTS for playing)

Thanks

I'm pretty sure they won't work without an optical input. The Mac Pro has only one line-out port.

More than anyone really needs to know about default Mac audio ports here:

If you're stuck on those speakers, this might be just what you need (on Mac OS X):

One of the external Sound Blaster devices might be an alternative to the above for Windows (and possibly works fine on the Mac, too).

Hope this helps,

Chris
