Quick question folks.
When you buy a build to order Mac Pro (in my case the quad core with only the SSD upped to 512) where is the final assembly (ie fitting of the SSD) done and where do they ship out of?

Is the whole lot done in the US? Or are the units assembled in the US but customised and shipped out of China?

I'm UK based and was just wondering if the machine I ordered on Monday will continue to sit in "processing" over Christmas and New Years, or if the non christmas celebrating chinese will be working away at it?

Impatience of the highest order I know, but I'm just a big bearded child.

If you are getting a custom unit from their site, it's going to be coming from the US. Majority of the Mac Pro 6,1 are completely built in the US. But even on the 5,1 units, the complete unit would be built in China, and custom orders would be configured in the US.

Cheers buddy! My unit isn't estimated to arrive until the 7th, but hopefully they get it out the door today and tomorrow and it can be underway with the courier when the new years holiday hits :)

Order has (as expected) sat in limbo over christmas
