Mac Pro CPU Heatsinks

Are the 2006 and 2008 Heatsinks structurally different?

They have different part numbers, but can they be interchanged?

I have a friend parting out a 1,1 and will give me the piece for free.

I have a 3,1 single CPU that I am looking to upgrade.

This would be a huge savings compared to the $150+ 08 heatsink obviously but if it doesnt work then it doesnt work.
