I just bought a new MP, and it came with leopard install disk. i have a MBP with tiger, would it be possible to set up Leopard on my mbp with the same disk? Or are all the disk different for all the different machines. Thanks in advance for your help.

    1) No, it's not possible
    2) It's against the license agreement - the O/S that comes with a new machine can only be installed on the machine it came with

it's not an O/S disk per se but a restore disk and I believe it checks the machine you're trying to install it on is the same type as it's designed for.

Wouldn't it have just been easier for you not to post this?

    Good point

You're totally right. Trying to get the word out about searching is a terrible idea.

What's you issue with it, anyway? It wasn't directed at you nor was it rude.

Its a stupid knowing full well it is a licence violation - which is where the issue stops. If it breaks the rules, its a no-go area. Want Leopard, do the legal thing and purchase the legal copy.
