Mac Pro Early 2009 eSATA Card

The title is self explanatory. I've looked around, and the Sonnettech is incompatible with the 2009 model. What card should I pick?

Here's an SIL3132 based 2 port model that will work (won't boot OS X, but it's really inexpensive). SIL offers the drivers here. They're simple (no RAID functionality, but do work with SL and '09 machines).

The 4 port models are substantially more expensive though ($200USD vs. less than $20USD on eBay for the SIL3132 based card). 😉

But if there's a need, then that trumps cost. 😛

agreed. was Christmas present, so figured i was worth it. i can now RAID0 4 external drives with 2 of these... http://www.amazon.com/eSATA-SATA-Ex...?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1262294120&sr=8-13

it's a very useful little device... no more external drives with their own power cables and plugs and mess, just insert cheap bare drive and BAM!
