If you are looking to invest in happiness "things" are never a good choice.

So once the happiness of the new thing wears off, I can always fall back on the longer-lasting experience of bragging that I own the thing on internet message boards! 🙂

It is scientifically proven, that buying new shiny things only makes you happy for a short period of time. The happiness quickly wears off, once you have those things and you soon start to feel the need to buy something else.

Trite, and "scientifically proven" is a meaningless statement without understanding the boundary conditions of the specific experiment.

Actually I get a lot of happiness from "things" (why the quotes I wonder), such as my house, my electricity, teeth fillings, and yes, very much so my computers which allow me to enjoy a creative life.
