Nice. How are you overclocked (zdnet?), and is it stable at 3.08? Sorry for the small threadjack, I'll post my GB when I get back to the studio tmw.

Yes Zdnet overclocked, took the slider to the end of the green bar to get 3.08 Ghz. Decided not to risk yellow. Seems stable enough with no temperature issues but you have to reset the clock every day as it runs 10% faster due to the overclock method.

You running OS 10.7
Nice score

Thanks, just installed 10.7 to give it a try and so far seems pretty stable for me..... just a few bugs here and there.

I'm content with that score on my 2009 Quad considering it's pretty much maxed out: 3.33 ghz W3580 with 24gb RAM and 2 C300 SSD 256gb in software RAID 0 for OS X and programs and 4x2TB WD RE4 in hardware RAID 0 for Videos, Photos, Movies, and Music.

Just wondering what other Quads are gettting for scores?

Base quad model with 6gb of ram. Geekbench in 64bit.

My 2009 Quad doesn't look so old after seeing some of these scores. I scored around 8,400 with the 2.67Ghz / 8GB DDR3 system.

Didn't bother to restart or quit any apps, around 20 applications was running when doing this benchmark-test.

Those list new at $1663.00 each. Ouch. That is a terrible bang for the buck. But used could be sweet. 3.9GHz Turbo and what I would assume would be a single bin fully saturated so all 4 cores would run at 3.73GHz.

No doubt... but at 1K obo... a tad bit more palatable. I just got my dual 2.4 westmere so I'll be fine for a while. Hopefully by the time I get the upgrade itch these will be $500 each or less.

I think I'm in last place: I ran three trials and I'm averaging around 5,300.
:(
I have a Mac Pro 1,1 original model. 2 x 2.66 GHz, 5 MB RAM.

What mods did you do :)
The mods were:

1) Replaced main video card with the Radeon 5870 (have a GT120 in there for CUDA as well).

2) Replaced the processor with an i7 980x hexcore, and replaced the RAM with 12GB 1333 non-ECC RAM.

3) Replaced the hard drive with a 512GB SSD.

I already had the processor, RAM, and SSD from an older PC build that I had not used for quite a bit; so the only "new" cost, was the 5870.
