i have had my mac pro for about a year and a few weeks and the hd in bay one (the stock hd, the ones in the other 3 bays ive added)...
the hd in bay one is making a random chirp sound. ive heard a bad hd make a clicking sound but this is not the same, just a subtle chirp.

it used to be once in a blue moon now it seems to be around id guess 10-15 times a week give or take.

heres the info:
ST3160812AS P:

Capacity: 149.05 GB
Model: ST3160812AS P
Revision: 3.BQH
Serial Number:
Native Command Queuing: Yes
Queue Depth: 32
Removable Media: No
Detachable Drive: No
BSD Name: disk0
Bay Name: "Bay 1"
OS9 Drivers: No
S.M.A.R.T. status: Verified

is this anything to worry about? i have osx on the bay 2 hd since it is the coolest bay and i have a dualboot vista and xp on the bay 1 hd. if it did die it wouldnt be the end of the world but it would be a pain setting it up again.

any thoughts and/or advice appreciated!

Chirping = not good. Make sure you have everything on that hD backed up, it could go at any time. I would call Apple and get a new HD.
