I updated security updates but after that my Mac Pro 2010 stop working. I assume that Nvidia driver is not yet supported for the recent update. Im using Sierra btw. The update was Security Update 2018-002.

For now, Im using default GPU but how can I solve this problem?

There are NVIDIA drivers available for all versions up to 10.13.3 at the moment. See sticky at top of this forum. Posted links.

He is using Sierra.
Personally, this is why I don't update immediately.
It is wise to wait at least a few days in case there are any such problems.

I don't have an Nvidia GPU, but don't you need to install the web drivers before upgrading the OS?

I updated my 2010 iMac this morning, everything installed ok, but took maybe 20 minutes or so.

I did **** myself when it first started the installation and made a loud beep noise (like the noise a computer makes if RAM not installed properly or something), but left it to restart a few times by itself and it sorted itself out.

edit: I was on the latest MacOS High Sierra update to start with and now on 10.13.4

The latest Sierra 10.12.6 build should be 16G1314. That web driver should be out either later today or early next week. The Easter holiday likely will delay the release a bit longer than usual...

Latest Sierra web driver is for build 16G1212:

And no, you generally update the OS and then update the NVIDIA web driver. My standard procedure is to not update MacPro's OS until I have the .pkg driver update installer downloaded on the machine's desktop.

The associated driver can only be installed AFTER the OS update.

And Nvidia usually need 1-2 days to release the new driver.

In case really required. We can always patch the old driver and use it on a newer OS. However, no guarantee this method can work after every single OS update.
