I don't know whether to post this in the OS X Yosemite forum or this one, but I'll choose this one as it's a 5,1 Mac Pro in question that's running Yosemite 10.10.3
So I was just watching some paint balling videos on YouTube, had Steam open, had Mail open, and I was trying to listen some music via iTunes, then it started self scrolling/skipping/cycling through the songs before even playing them - as if someone was pressing "Next" immediately before a song could play.
Then as I tried to quit iTunes, it started to beachball, then the keyboard became unresponsive, then I tried to move the Safari window and it kept SNAPPING - as if it had a mind of it's own - back into place! I've NEVER seen anything like this. Everything kept crashing and becoming unresponsive left and right. It was surreal.
CMD + Option + Esc wouldn't do anything, either. The weirdest part had to be when I clicked on the WiFi icon in the top bar, it said "keyDisableWiFi" or something, it was super bizarre. Dock also became unresponsive, and no other apps would bounce or load.
Also weird was the Safari Bookmarks menu was selected, but it was FULLY transparent, as seen in the photo below.
Please, can someone explain to me what just happened? Now I'm worried there may be an issue with the machine itself, or something. I had to force shut down the Mid 2010 Mac Pro by holding down the power button and after it booted back up all is fine. For now.
Specs are 3.2Ghz Quad Xeon - 16GB RAM (I think stock RAM) - Radeon HD 5770 Official Apple Card - Crucial MX100 256GB SSD with a clean install of Yosemite 10.10.3.
If there's any other info needed let me know! I really would like to know what just occurred.
