I'm hoping an expert could take a look at this and let me know if there's anything obvious here. My machine keeps crashing, though inconsistently. I usually see a few short screen glitches, across all three screens, and then they all go completely solid colors, though each screen picks its own color for some reason, and then crash and reboot.

Could someone take a look at this and let me know if you can tell what the cause is? I obviously sent it to Apple but that feels like sending a message into outer space hoping for aliens to respond.

The machine is a new mac pro, just purchased 2 months ago, did not use migration assistant. Have only installed Logic, music instrument libraries and plugins, and a few games through Steam. Also Chrome. All software is up to date.

Attached hardware: 3 monitors, 3 external drives, 3 Midi controllers, an audio interface, mouse, keyboard.

    Thanks in advance

    -Stephen

Whenever I hear about screen artifacts/glitches, my first guess is always a failing video card.

What pastrychef said. Growing screen artefacts followed by a hard, hard lockup suggest it's GPU hardware related and not drivers, though I would also check if the error still occurs with both the Thunderbolt storage devices disconnected from a cold boot.

Repairing the disk permissions via CMD+R Disk utility as the usual last long shot too..

    Gav,

Sorry for digging this post up from the grave. I took it into the Apple Store two weeks ago and they replaced "Graphics Board A", which changed absolutely nothing. The problem persists.

Problem happened with storage devices disconnected, and repairing disk permissions did nothing.

    Any other thoughts?

Fresh install on another partition. No migration, just let it run.
KEXTs can cause this. However, I would normally expect to see more in the log. But it could be a wayward corruption.
Long shot, but worth a try.

Disconnect all non-essential USB devices (leave mouse & keyboard) and reboot, let us know what happens.
