What is the logic board in the mac pro, is it an apple designed board or is it one of intels???

Apple requested, Intel designed, Foxconn produced probably.

It's a workstation board using the 5400 chipset, Intel don't currently have their own 5400 based workstation board out as far as I know.

The board is an Apple spec intel design based loosely on the intel 5000VXN reference server board, using the 5400B chipset in place of the 5000X chipset.
