is 1066 memory (4gb pair) for a 2009 mac pro backwards compatible to the 2006 667mhz slots? In OWC's ads, they say the 800mhz is backwards compatible to the 2006 mac pros, but what about 1066mhz memory?

I want to buy for my 2006 mac pro, but anticipate buying a 2009 version of the tower next year. So i would like to know.

Absolutely not. The 2010 version of the Mac Pro will exist next year. Get that.

More to the point, '08 and '06 mac pros use FB-DIMMS, and newer Mac Pros don't and will not use them.
