Hi,

Could any of you tell me if this would be the best setup: (Mac Pro 3,1; Snowleopard).

Riser A
DIMM 1: original APPLE 1 GB
DIMM 2: original APPLE 1 GB
DIMM 3: new 2GB
DIMM 4: new 2GB

Riser B
DIMM 1: new 2GB
DIMM 2: new 2GB
DIMM 3: new 2GB
DIMM 4: new 2GB

14 Gb total.

I currently have 4x 1Gb divided over the 2 risers but the machine indicates its only 2x 1Gb on riser B and 2x512Mb on riser A. Something must be wrong/dead? on riser A. I'm therefor planning to get 6x2Gb (PC2-6400 DDR2 800 MHz SDRAM FBDIMM ECC 240 pin) to have all slots occupied (and leave out the faulty memory).

Thanks a lot!
