Mac Pro No Power LED

Hi Team

Hope you can help. My Intel Mac Pro was operating fine and was correctly shut down but now fails to start up and no LED. The attached 20" cinema screen has same issue no power or LED illuminated.

I have confirmed both the power leads are working. I have left machine off overnight, held start button for 5 sec, switched power on with button held and not held but no life at all.

Any hints or tips would be very welcome.

Was there a power surge?

I had the same thing on my Power Mac. It was the power supply within the computer. Yours sounds to be the same thing.

Power surge: no don't seem to think so.

Ref power supply within Mac sounds possible but what would cause issue within the screen?

Check the power plug at the outlet.

Got feedback from Mac Approved Repair. They confirm screen is OK but the Pro requires a new power supply unit. Repair not for 2 weeks, after Christmas. I will keep you informed as to the final outcome / cost / experience.
