I'm looking for some help.

I have a Mac Pro that I purchased in August of 2008. Today I was trying to burn a disk in Toast and recieved an error. I hadn't rebooted my computer since installing a new hard drive last week, so I restarted it.

When it was restarting, it sat at a white screen and I can't get any further. Thinking it may be an issue with the new HD, I removed it and tried to reboot it. No luck...

After researching on the net, It looks like I need to do an Archive/Install. The problem is that I can't get my DVD drive open to insert my OS X Install disks. I've tried all the tricks I can find on the net including:

- Holding down the mouse buttons while booting up
- holding down F12 while booting
- holding down the Options key while booting to get to the boot menu

Can anyone suggest any thing else?

Open the side of your Mac Pro and swing the drive bay toward you to expose the front of the drive. This will allow you to open the tray by hitting the eject button.

Thanks, that worked.

Unfortunately, it looks like I've got bigger issues. How does a person know if the logic board is fried?
