didn't feel as though I was being sold cack I didn't need or anything :)
Really? :) What do you need two 27" displays for?
If you do allot of video editing or animation it might be useful but just one is huge in dimensions and screen real estate.

lol, I am so use to dual screens though mate. I have 2 x 22" monitors right now and it just makes life easier being able to have things displayed on one screen and other crap on the other.

Once you switch to dual monitors you find it hard to really think 1 is enough. 27" is nice and big yeah, but being able to have your more focused of items on the 1 monitor and other stuff on the other is just so convenient!

I agree, dual monitors are great. I want to buy a 27" imac but have 2 24" monitors already....damn. Ill have to get a 27inch to go with the Imac i guess

lol do it man!

Seriously though, bigger isn't always better. lol. When most people were getting 24" monitors I had my 2 x 22", have to say I prefer duals to the larger monitors. I just find them to be much more practical. I could day 3 is overkill but I guess if I started using 3 I would get use to it someway or another. But I can't see any use in it just yet.

sir, i envy you!
hope you have a really big desk, the 27"s... they're massive! :D

worryingly I do not lol. I will sort something out, i have a side cabinet thing that is roughly the same height as my desk. so with a bit of luck they will both sit quite comfortably more or less next to each other. Some way or another anyway lol

I'd go for Configuration 3 and maybe up the RAM to 16GB. There is a difference between Apple and generic RAM. The generic RAM has often failed the quality control of the major manufacturers like Apple, IBM, and HP.

Dual 27s aren't too much real estate given the they are quite a bit smaller than the 30s they replace. I sure hope Apple comes up with a real monitor upgrade soon.

The 3 GHz 8 core Mac Pro that I use with 16GB of RAM has worked well for a few years now and the 64bit has given it a new lease on life. I'm really impressed with the speed increase.

well this sucks.

I received order confirmation today, despite on the website saying the delivery time for the 27" monitor is 5 to 7 business days. It says 2 to 3 weeks in my email. Takes the piss a bit. Not very happy at all. I phoned them up to find out what is going on and I got a load of ************ from the woman on the phone who found it hard to understand that if I cancelled the order I processed on the 18th September and reordered the screen right now I would have it a week to 2 weeks sooner.

She came out with saying there has been high demand for them and that even if I did that it would still be 2 to 3 weeks. Uhm, if I am not mistaken, it is wrong for them to declare a shipping date of 5 to 7 days when they are clearly not going to deliver.

Nice of them to take my money while I wait another month without my new computer. Think I'll stick to building my own systems in the future.
