Why are you so loving quad core. These days they're almost useless as there are almost no programs which use all the cores (only when you render video). You can better buy a fast Dual Core than a slow quadcore.
I'm surprised that this sort of mentality is still around under Nehalem/Westmere.

I'm looking at it since it's quad and because it's 1999. But it looks like the 2008 model with older DDR2 memory and you have to buy the RAM with heatsinks in order to upgrade it. And it only comes with 2gb, so I'd want to upgrade right away.

Or is the 1549 refurb iMac a better deal?
