mac pro or PS3 + HDTV?

well all i can say is that i have an eyetv hybrid, an hdtv antenna, and after recording shows in hd, my imac can't convert the files. after a few hours, it just stops exporting the file.

somethings gotta give here

Well.. you can make money using a Mac Pro.

Buy two PS3's on launch day and sell one on eBay... that'll get you some money. 'Specially with the shortages they're going to have.

well i'm really close to buying a Mac Pro. i have enough money now. any advice?*

i think i want the ATI video card, but i just wish they had them at the apple store

well i think i might go to the apple store tonight if i have time. hopefully they'll have one with the ati card and maybe wireless also. if they do, i just might get it tonight! any reason not too?

as far as the PS3, i might still be able to get that also, if i can get my hands on one

Mac Mini + westinghouse 42w2 1900x1080P 42" display and a PS3. Should cost less than a mac pro, even with the wireless kb/mouse.

Then your family room will look like mine. 🙂 (sans the ps3 for now of course)

yeah, but the problem is the mac mini isn't powerful enough for me. that's the reason why i'm considering the mac pro

well i can't decide what to order.*

should i get the ATI video card? should i order with 2Gb of ram from apple? should i do both? should i do neither?

i know i want these things, but do i really need to get these from apple? i'm nervous spending $3000 on one machine

well the apple store only has 2 models in stock:

the standard one and

the ultimate one = with 2 GB of ram, 3.0 ghz, ATI card

clearly i can't buy the ultimate.*

so it's either the standard one at the store, or order online

well i think i've decided to get the standard mac pro, except add the ATI card and Wireless + bluetooth. i'll add more RAM later
