Is there another PC operating system other than Microsoft Vista for the PC side of the new Mac? Linux?

I don't see why not. I've heard of lots of folks using Ubuntu under Parallels.

Linux....most any x86 distro of Linux should run on a Mac Pro.

Minor Correction - it needs to be running kernel 2.6.18 or later (They're on like 2.6.22 now). So you need to be running a recent version of Linux. I think Ubuntu 6.10 or 7.04 works, and the latest Fedora also does.

Try Ubuntu Feisty Fawn. You could also do XP Home or XP Pro too (w/ service pack 2). I'm itching to try Feisty Fawn myself.

perhaps, but i'm glad to hear someone's running XP64 on their MP, as that's the version I hope to use for gaming and some audio work (just what I can't get done with OSX) after I get mine.
