Did anyone else notice that Apple dropped the price on the Mac Pro to $2599 for the 8 core model? It's $2149 if you opt for the single quad core CPU. As I recall, it was $2799


Am I just this far behind the latest Apple news?

I see 2,299.00 for quad and $2799 for octo, not sure what you are looking at. If there is a price drop, we're atleast a month away from a new product, if not more for them to get rid of current inventory.
 
always remember to logoff from your school account when browsing apple.com if you want to see the real prices, not student discount.
 
Oh my gosh, I feel like such an idiot now. I forgot to log off of my education store account! I'm such an idiot sometimes!

No you are looking at the price for an educator. I just looked and the price is
2,799.00 I just bought one friday so I nearly lost my dinner when I read this!
