I want to see what everyone thinks the entry level price point of the mac pro will be.
8k to start
$2499 - wishful thinking
$3399 - reality sinks in
Until we have a better idea of the range of parts that will be in this new system, particularly at the entry level I don't know how we can speculate with any accuracy.
An entry level Quad Core with lame (mobile) GPUs, a 256GB SSD, and 4GB of RAM could be priced anywhere from $1000-$2000 with my guess being $2K and my desire being more like $1500. A 12-Core monster with 1TB SSD, 32GB RAM, and dual workstation GPUs could be $20K.
The gpus alone are 3400 on newegg right now...a piece. And there are two of them
The cpu is also northwards of 1500
What if they price it like all the others starting at 2499.99? I bet fists will be getting angrier over that.
Do you think that they can get away with a starting config of over $5K?
.. starts at only $2999.
That sounds great...for the Hackintosh community.
I voted for between $3000-$3499 though it will depend what model you are gonna get.
