im thinking of buying mac pro maybe in few months i noticed it supports 4x2600xt does that mean qaud-sli 8800GT is supported (modeler/gamer)

You couldn't power 4 Geforce 8800GT's unless you made power connections directly to the PSU. The Mac Pro motherboard only has 2 auxilary power connectors (for the graphics cards) on the board.

SLI is not supported in MacOS X, and you have to have a hack or two to run SLI in Windows on the Mac Pro.

Is it possible to have one 8800GT for windows and one 8800GT for OSX? So you could run both at native speeds for both OS's simultaneously?

Wow. That'd take some coding. There would have to be a large enough demand first... then something like Parallels would have an option to have each OS see only one card... Yeah, not going to happen. Cool idea, though.
