Mac Pro RAM

I was lookin' gettin' a Mac Pro for editing video (HD & SD), how much RAM should i get? and is there a difference between 16GB (4x 4GB) and 16GB (8x 2GB)?

the other specs I'd be getting are:
3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
1TB storage
NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 1.5GB
Two 16x SuperDrives

I didn't read them all in detail, but you may find helpful information in them. They appear to deal with the Mac Pro, not the MacBook Pro. As you probably already know, when you search the forums using the Google engine, you can restrict the search by using quotes, so "Mac Pro" will find hits specific to your model.
