Mac Pro rear fan replacement

I think something is going wrong with rear fan in my Mac Pro.

When it's spinning low it sounds a bit weird.

I found original fan have a 3-pin connector:

Can I replace it with something much better like Noctua fan ?

Sure it is. You can either buy Apple VAR fans or you can select you're own perhaps better models.
