Hi All,

We recently purchased a Mac Pro Server w/ an Apple RAID card and OSX Server. It has 2 x 1TB drives. My initial setup involved migrating the RAID set to a simple RAID1 setup, ie. 1TB of useable space.

The software manufacturer is now saying they need the OS (and all other applications) and their Server software on a separate, non-RAIDed Volume to the database (which will contain most of the data).

I can easily setup 2 Volumes (eg. 200GB for OS/Applications and 800GB for Database) however this still breaks their "rule" for installation of having the OS/Server Application on a RAIDed drive.

Personally I'd prefer to just have one Volume setup in RAID1, however for support purposes I have to follow their install guides.

Does anyone know if this setup is even possible with 2 x 1TB drives? eg. One 200GB stand alone Volume that is not RAIDed, and the rest in a RAID1 setup?

Thanks for any tips, hope it makes sense.
