Well this is pretty cool. Hardmac.com has found out that the Sony drive in the Mac Pro is an NEC. They went ahead and flashed the drive to make it an NEC. This add the following new features:
1: Region Free - YEAH!
2: CDs at 48x
3: Burn DVD-RAMs
4: Faster Read speeds

Region free is a big one for me, I have dvds from all over the place. Now I don't have to use VLC!
