    hello,

I would like to know how does mac pro’s power/performance compare with other workstation from big players like sun workstation. Eg.
Sun ultra 40 workstation series, silicon graphics computers, hp xw series or ibm series.

Please provide your expertise and advice.

    Thanks alot

Well, as far as an Intel workstation goes the Mac Pro uses Intel's latest Xeon processors, FB-DIMMs of RAM, has 4 HDD bays and plenty of other goodies. It's easily as good as the equivalent Dell, only in a stunning, sturdy, durable aluminium case that'll last you a lot longer than many other enclosures.

I don't know how it compares to other architectures, but for an x86 standalone workstation it's the business, and the price is realistic too.
