The Mac Pro tech specs page (http://www.apple.com/mac-pro/specs/) has been updated to say it supports 3x 5K displays, however, according to Apple's support documentation, this configuration isn't actually supported by the current model (it only supports 3x 4K displays). Maybe someone at Apple had an oops?

And yet the page from August 2016 (https://web.archive.org/web/20160917065028/https://www.apple.com/mac-pro/specs/ as I linked in the post above yours) shows 4K. There must be a couple versions of the site floating around Apple's CDN.

Most likely what Apple means is just the nMP technically possible to support 3x 5K display because it has 6 thunderbolt (DP) output.

3x5k has ben supported (though somewhat buggy as all multidisplay setups seem to be on the nMP) for ages - since soon after the Dell 5k came out. It just means you can't have any TB peripherals.

Theory: i'm thinking if the 5k monitor is real, I don't think there will be another nmp....maybe.
