Hi,

just a quick update FYI.
I previously posted here that I was happy with two 4k Displays on the nMP, but turns out, I wasnt ;)
I was able to snap two of the DELL 2715K 5K screens with the dual TB connection. Hell these are two stunners. Still a huge upgrade over the 4k screens. And the look very much like my previous Apple thunderbold displays actually with their all glas front. Much nicer than the 2715Q if you ask me.
The upgrade over the thunderbolt display when it comes to image clarity can not be overstated of course. It's basically like running two Retina iMacs next to each other.

I was a little worried about stability of connection, wake issues with the screens or even just performance. But I can report that there are absolutely ZERO issues with this setup. It just works perfectly like any other monitor.

So finally I'm really happy with my mac pro setup after three years of being annoyed about not being able to have a retina display with this machine. Turns out - it is possible. And right now might be the perfect time for such a setup if you're eager for it, cause the Dell dropped to under 1000 $.
If you can get your hands on one that is - cause they stopped making it.

Just wanted to let you know that it works absolutely perfectly, cause I had a really hard time finding any info about such a setup and wether it works or not.

How exactly did you connect those? Is you setup still current?
Yea I still use it very happily!
Simply plugged the two dual thunderbolt cables into my Mac Pro. Also have 4 additional thunderbird harddrives attached through the other two ports and daisy chaining. It works really like a breeze! Such a shame 5k displays haven’t become the norm by now!
