I have a Mac Pro 3,1 2008. I recently upgraded the ram to 10gb and the processors from 2.8 to 3.2. I recently bought a PCIe SSD 100gb card. Its an OC revodrive 110 gb But having issues with Mac or windows to pick it up. I used the OCZ Mac bootable tool kit to update the firmware on the card. And still will not pick it up.

I can't figure out how to get OS X or windows to pick up the drive. I am running Yosemite and tired to install windows 8 and neither on both.

Am i doing something wrong or will this drive not work. If thats the case. And this SSD will not work. What PCIe ssd will work with my mac pro and is bootable so i can run OS X on the drive.

Or you could get an AHCI SM951 and a Lycom DT-120 PCIe adapter and get insane Read/Write speeds :)

The article says 2009 Mac Pro. I know they changed the design starting in 09 of the internal config of the Mac Pro. But has this been tested on a 2008 like mine and proved to be bootable ?

Oh, good point, I miss that one, sorry for my careless.

Luckily my suggestion still correct. From memory, if you go through that entire thread, someone at there should point out this combination is bootable even for 1,1 and 2,1. :D
