Hi
I am going to be buying an iMac tomorrow and I am trying to figure out if I should buy .Mac with it. Here is my situation. I have a web site that I pay $100 a year for 100GB of storage. I would like to be able to use iWeb to publish to my own domain and also use iPhoto to load to it as well. Do I need to have a .Mac account to do this? I know iWeb says you can publish to your own domain, but I am unsure if you have to use .Mac to do it. Anyone have any thoughts? I called Apple customer service and they were unable to give me a definitive answer. Thank you in advance!!!:apple:

Simple answer no you don't need .Mac for iWeb.

I am sure iWeb can upload to your own domain but if not you can publish to your desktop and ftp as you have been doing.

Some features like the blog I think will only work with .Mac.

You do need .mac to publish DIRECTLY from iWeb onto the server, however you can easily just Export to a folder and then upload it via FTP to your current host.
