Mac running slow...

Hi.
Recently my iMac has been running TOO slow.. it takes ages for files to move and folders to open. It was running fine until recently. Any software I open on here runs fine as usual, it's just the moving of files/folders and opening folders.
Can anyone help?

iMac Intel, 2GHZ, 2GB Ram, Leopard 10.5.2

I'd suggest repairing the permissions on the hard drive using disk utility. I could also be caused by having a full hard drive.

I turn it off whenever I don't use it. I done the repair on disk utility and everything was fine.. except it said something about "found xxx but not located in xxx" (something like that).

Could you copy and paste that message into a post? When Disk Utility reports a problem, this is an immediate concern.

Actually if its the message I think it is, Apple has ALREADY said that, there is a bug in Leopard where disk utility will say the message this guy is describing, but really nothing is wrong, and your just supposed to ignore it.

Console didn't show any errors.
Disk Utility said everything seems to be fine.

Yes. If you must try a reinstall before going through more troubleshooting steps, your best bet is an archive and install. This will replace your system files without disturbing anything else.
