I'm on vision OS 2 beta 4, when I mirror my Mac screen to the Vision Pro, it just looks very dim, like the brightness of the Mac display is turned all the way down. When I switch to a native Vision Pro app like safari, the white back in safari is normal brightness, but when I look at safari from the mirrored Mac display, it's half the brightness, is this normal? is there a fix?

Not normal. I haven't noticed it.
Perhaps there's another window overlapping? Or... are you also playing a video on the AVP? There's an option to auto-Dim somewhere in the Settings. Try disabling it.

I checked, there is no window overlapping, looked for auto dimming, could not find such a setting.
I've attached a screen shot, to the left is the mirrored Mac display and to the right is safari native on the Vision Pro.

Maybe it's a vision OS 2.0 bug. could someone with version 2.0 check? take a screen shot and let me see.

Problem Solved: I installed a program called lunar a while back to increase brightness for HDR based screens. (lets you go past 500 nits) . anyways, that program also has a brightness control for sidecar, it was set to 50%

great catch! I would have never guessed it without remote or physical access to your devices.
I’m glad you got this issue solved.
