I have a macbook 10.13. and I've been successfully backing up on external hard rive till today.
its stuck on 'Preparing to back up".
So, I deleted the .inProgress file.
Great. Then, I restart. I did this twice: first time with time machine still connected. Second time after ejecting time machine.
Strange thing is that, when I eject time machine, there should still be the trash of the inProgress file there...to trash right?
It's not there. So, I 'delete it/ drag to trash can". But, it disappears from trash can, and so not there later to 'empty trashcan'. Weird.
Where does it go?
In any case, it's still not backing up and stuck on "preparing to back up"
Any help would be great appreciated!
