Hello All

I have recently signed up with the .mac service however the only problem I have found so far is the general speed of the service. When using my idisk the upload and download speed seems slower than what I would have expected. Also when people view my photocasts they say that it's slow to download.

I know of course the speed of you internet connection will be very dependent upon this, however I have a 2mb connection.

Just wondered if others have had the same issue if so maybe it's something with the apple servers (maybe very busy).

Sorry to tell you this but for how much you are paying .mac sucks ass.

It is very slow even on my 4mb line. I had the trial (twice) but only used it for 2 days in total as it was just not worth the money in my opinion.

Improvements have been made but it still is way away from being value for money.

Part of the problem is the Finder itself. Using a program such as Transmit to work with your iDisk (like I do), you might be surprised at how much faster it is that it may at first seem. Anyway, I agree - .Mac is slower than it should be.

When connecting up the idisk on my windows computer its actually quite fast, but its slow in mac osx. uploading and downloading.

I agree with everything said. The difference in speed when using Transmit is staggering. Hopefully Leopard's new Finder will solve the problem
