Hi Guys
The 16 TB 1 big dock comes with a DP 1.4 cable?
Should I just connect with a usb C cable? from dock to M1 ultra
Haven't bought the 1 Big dock yet, just want to check as they are over $1000 here in Australia

in addition to being a HDD then is also a TB dock to which can connect your monitor

so would be

mac studio - tb - 16tb big dock - DP - monitor

in that can connect your monitor via the dock rather then having to connect to a different usb-c port on the studio, however is up to you if want to daisy chain the monitor off the dock or not.

Hi There,
Unfortunately I only have 4 ports on the Studio monitor,
3 USB C and 1 thunderbolt

In which case the DP port is wasted for you as would need to connetc to a TB port on the Mac, or a TB Dock.

This is the connections I can see on the back
Which are from left to right

TB port for Host Connection
TB port for daisy chaining other TB devices
DP port for connecting a DisplayPort equipped monitor.

as your display is a Studio Display then can attach that to either.

TB port on your Mac
middle port on your big Dock, with the Mac connected to the first port.

and ignore the DP port unless you plan on buying another monitor equipped with DP and attach it to the DP port as a secondary monitor.

Very much appreciated ,
Thank you!
Although I love technology , I guess I'm technology challenged! :)
After reading your post, it should have been obvious, but I did not grasp it,
