Hello,

I'm planning to upgrade my iMac 24 to the new Mac Studio soon and I would greatly appreciate some advice regarding the choice of a new monitor.

For the new setup, I prefer having two smaller monitors rather than one large monitor.
However, due to the cost of the Mac Studio, my budget allows me to purchase only one monitor for now (budget: €500/$500). I primarily use my setup for web development, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Screenflow.

Initially, I was considering the LG 27UN880P ERGO, as I really like its stand and the option to use an intermediate resolution to avoid content appearing too large or small. However, I recently came across a deal for the LG 24MD4KL-B, priced below €500. This monitor is known for its superior panel quality, comparable to my current iMac.

I'm really struggling to make a decision... What do you recommend? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

The LG 24" will be better quality but you'll most likely be running it at 1920x1080 for that 2:1 pixel ratio. Will 1920x1080 be enough screen real-estate for you to work with for your applications until you get a second smaller monitor? I think you can set your iMac's resolution to 1920x1080 to test and see if the experience will meet your needs. If you find that you need something larger, than the 27" LG or any decent 27" 4K monitor should still be a good option.

Thank you for your input and advice. After considering your points, I have decided to go with the LG 24MD4KL. At the resolution of 1920x1080, it is already usable for me, and I have found reviews from users who are comfortable using it at 2560x1440 with excellent text clarity.

Additionally, I discovered that it is easy to add a VESA stand, which eliminates one of the advantages of the 27UN880P.

Lastly, finding this monitor brand new with an Amazon warranty for less than €500 was a decisive factor, especially considering that it is typically only available used at this price. I am looking forward to receiving it!
