mac terminal

    when i open my terminal it do not show my name instead of it show

    locala8bbcf155bac:~ noman$

    why it is showing locala8bbcf155bac ?

    Open System Preferences and go to the Sharing pane and you will see "locala8bbcf155bac" is there as your Computer Name. Just change it to whatever you want and the change will be reflected in Terminal.

    i did not find this on sharing pane :(
    in sharing pane
    my name is written there "Noman's mac book"

    Odd... Terminal for me mirrors whatever is in that computer name section in Sharing. Are you by chance on a VPN or logged in remotely where it might be picking up another computer name from the network?

    Click "Edit" underneath the Computer Name field and change the host name entry.
