mac to join mshome domain

Hello.

Right now my powerbook is on the workgroup domain and I wanted to know how to swtich my pb so join the MSHOME domain?

But if you just want to change the work group name that your Mac shows up in, well, I don't know that answer because I never knew anyone that needed to do it.

The article mentions Panther. Is it the same for Tiger?

Workgroup domains can be changed in /Applications/Utilities/Directory Access.app, Macs can be added to Active Directory there as well. Though the process in Tiger is much better integrated than that of Panther.

At my work, I just log onto the domain with DOMAIN\username and my password. Doesn't seem as easy on OS X, but I'll figure it out. Hopefully the IT guy (heh it's an IT company) knows some of this terminology.

I still have no clue what Active Directory is 😱

You cannot log into a Mac that way.. it does not support DOMAIN\username logins.
