is there a way to run my xbox internet through my mac using airport. What i mean is that i would use airport(wireless internet) on my mac and then run an ethernet cable from the port in the back of my imac 5g to my xbox. how would i go about doing this?

why don't you just use airport and plug the cord that was going to your iMac, right into the 360? thats what i do

I think that its to do with where his 360 is. That would be fine if he doesnt mind a cable thru his house, or if it was next to his airport, but yes you can share your internet connection using the ethernet connection from your iMac to your 360

What piece of equipment do you connect your mac to your internet?
Is it wireless? or wired?
where is it? and where is your mac, and xbox

ok i have a imac g5 with airport built in to it wirelessy. and i want to basically turn my computer into a router
how would i go about doing this?

and my xbox and computer are right next to each other and the airport base is in my dads room.

I've never done it, but I would assume you would do it through the System Preferences, Sharing panel.

Or,,,,,, connect to ya internet wireless, plug ya xbox into a mac, and go to preferences, network, and share internet by ethernet. and that will work.

( i think, i do this with my xbox,,, )

mac into a router

go to sharing in prefences, and choose internet, and choosing sharing. turn it on. I'm using that way right now. I have a ibook sharing internet lan(in) wireless(out) via airport and surfing the web on my windows laptop. just make sure u disable firewall and no wep encryption on your mac that has internet sharing on. I never could get it to work with either of those settings on

you can do this with pc also but you have bridge the two connects but its a pain in the but to get working. mac 1 click your done.

good luck
