Mac, Two Factor, asking for iOS passcode?

So is this normal? Had enabled two factor on my iOS devices not long ago. Started up a computer I haven't used in a little while, it said I needed to log back into iCloud. Specifically asked me for my iCloud password, and then asked for passcode from one of my iOS devices. It even showed the name of the device it wanted the passcode from.

Is this normal, or should I be concerned?

It is not asking for the device's passcode, it is asking for a verification code that it just sent to the device. That is what two factor is all about - you need two things, your iCloud password and a trusted device.

And this is why I am concerned. It did in fact ask for the passcode from one of my iOS devices. It accepted the passcode I entered. No verification code was sent to any of my trusted devices.

But if it is doing it on iOS devices as well, maybe all is ok.

I am going to make a wild guess and say that it may have something to do with synchronizing encrypted data (iMessages, Photos faces, etc.) across iCloud, as mentioned in the WWDC keynote.
