I've gone ahead and ordered the up to date disk for my Macbook Pro, but I don't see a need for me to really have Snow Leopard on my MBP, I'd rather put it on my iMac. In the past with these up to date disk have they been a disk that can be installed on any Mac hardware or are they limited to the hardware that qualified you for the up to date program?

In short, can I take my disk Apple will send me and install it on my iMac instead of my MBP?

I think they just send you a retail copy, so yes you can install it on any Mac you like.
