mac user cant update itunes 10.5 or dl ios5

Hi,
my itunes can detect update 10.5 but once i try to download, the "software update" will tell no available updates.

i tried dl from apple webpage but was told an error with my session. restarting wont help.

What can I do?

Is iTunes in your /Applications folder? If its not there, Software Update may not be able to write the changes. I also suggest repairing disk permissions and verifying disk with Disk Utility. If you have been using the same network connection to attempt updating, try another or do it over Ethernet as opposed to occur Wifi.
