PC Parents, I can't stand em.

Well, it's time to get that new computer for college. My parents were a little shocked at this, because it was just two years ago that they got me a *brand new* pc. Well, it's 466mhz, 64mb ram, a horrible video card, and a monitor almost as big as my TV (and no, I don't mean viewable) It was an emachines, one of those poorly constructed PCs they sell on QVC and home shopping infomertials.

Anyway, I told my Dad I was going to purchase the new iMac after the expo in July. He things I'm stupid or something. I really don't know when people are going to realize that the compatability thing isn't an issue anymore. Maybe PCs are a little better for networking, but Jaguar should shut them up about that. :p

Anyway, when I do get my mac, I know he'll just be jealous. I'de love to see him do video editing on his 100mhz PC. That thing moans and groans so much that.. well, you get the point.

Macs rule.

Inhale420, then go whack off in front of your hexpee box then... seriously, we don't give a flying f*ck what you experience, at least I don't. OS X is rock solid, unless you actually do things to change that.

As for hexpee, anyone that willingly gets the 'home' version should get their head examined. Considering how if you don't give m$ all the information that it asks for, you don't have a computer after 30 days (and that is a fact jackoff).

As for the stability of OS 9, it is NOT 'horrible' as you claim. I run it every day, all day at work, and very rarely crash (don't remember the last one). OS X IS many times better then OS 9 is/was, which is saying TONS.

How much memory do you have in your poor OS X system??? I would wager that you don't have enough, and leaving it running 24/7, or even 24/5 is not recommended. Shutting it down before you leave work, or are done for the day/night will do wonders for your system's stability.

Go back to sucking on your bong...

AWWW did i hurt your feelings little boy? you're mad, and i'm sitting here laughing at your pathetic closed-minded attitude.

umm, unlike you, my mac is a WORKHORSE. i render my work every night. and umm, that requires me to leave it on.

alpha, you truly make mac users look bad. i feel sorry for you. you're in a completely different league from me, think twice before replying to my posts.

in other words, you're saying no one should run a server with mac, unless we love to reboot everyday

what a great retort, instead of addressing the problem, you suggest a ridiculous workaround and throw in a few personal attacks.

Don't put words in my mouth you bastage... Servers are COMPLETELY different. The server versions of the operating systems are coded to handle long up times. But even those need to be restarted from time to time.

IF I gave a flying f*ck what you though, I MIGHT listen to you. Since I don't, go bugger yourself.

One of the major contributing factors to issues with OS X IS a lack of physical RAM inside the system. Ask anyone who is running it, and then adds more memory to it.

BTW, why even bother to bring back a thread that has been sleeping?? Can't take the fact that people actually do what they please with their systems?? If I don't want to leave my TiBook running 24/7, that's MY choice. If you want to leave yours running for extended periods of time, don't b*tch about things happening after xdays. Most [intelligent] people would simply restart the computer and move on. There is also a little item in the doc that you can use to send feedback to Apple about the OS... use it and shut the F up.
