I have a webhost that I am very attached to. I also have lifetime hosting that was paid for. Due to severe attacks on my movabletype blog I elected to install wordpress. However, in the back of my mind I have a .mac account that has some nice features. While I love the look of many features of .mac I still like to have the creative power over the design and I don't want my site to look too canned. And yet I'd still like to use my .mac account for something more than the .mac e-mail address.

Has anyone been faced with this? What have you done? I can redirect my godaddy domain to my mac homepage, but that then rids me of my wonderful hosting which I'm unwilling to do since it's paid for.

Well, you get a Terabyte of data transfer, a month I think with .Mac. Also a Gig of storage for what every you need to store, this is split between your mail and iDisk so it wont be a full gig of storage for files. So if you have some large files, store it on .Mac and link to it from Godaddy. You can redirect from Godaddy to .Mac most likely. Hell, No-ip.com redirects the russo site below which is hosted on .Mac. You can also use the iDisk space to store important documents, and also use the iBackup software you get for free with your .Mac account to make backups of important settings to the .Mac server. Maybe make the .Mac site more personal, for pictures and home movies for people you know while keeping the wordpress/godaddy for more of a blog for anyone to read.
