Hi, I have a 4 month old mac book pro that will not start up. I have two partitions on the drive osx and xp. when I try to start up in OSX I get the circle with slash through it. When I try to start up in XP I get a missing system file error. In verbose mode with OSX I get read error 0x7 and error locating mach_kernel... THe weird thing is it won't let me boot from the install DVD. When I hold down "c" or "option" (and select optical drive) I get the spinning gear beneath the apple system then after a minute or so a Kernel panic looking grey screen that tells me to restart my computer. I've tried single user mode, verbose mode, safe mode, reseting ram. Any suggestions?

Help g5 won't start - black screen

I've tried re-booting it but it says to restart again and that doesn't work. It says something like kernal error : we're hanging on here (something like that!) please help, or do you know someone who can ? ?

REALLY HOPE YOU CAN HELP.

Thanks suntzu
