:apple: Hi everyone I bought .mac subscription the other day and today I just finished taking the plunge on a 2.4ghz,15in,160gb,256mb Santa Rosa. Do you think Apple will give me something back if I tell them about it? Since they have that promo of something off when you buy a MBP.:apple:

How long ago did you purchase the .Mac and who did you buy it from?

If you got it within 30 days and from Apple directly then I would say give them a call- they may give you your $30 refund since you bought a mac.
 
No, iChat can connect to other services like AIM and anything using Jabber protocols (like GoogleTalk).

Well to be more specific, My sister wants to run ichat where she can have 3 chat windows in video mode open at the same time, can ichat do that without having to subscribe to .mac?
