Those corners eliminate that case from consideration for me. Just plain ugly. Not sure what they were thinking there.
For what it's worth, I have a black iPad and I don't even notice them.

Each to their own, it's good of you to post that info.
Maybe it's different in person, but I just can't get past the resemblence to these wire storage cubes, particularly the corner connectors:

Which is unfortunate, because I do like the ipad1 version of this case.
Over on Ipadforums.net someone has just found the sleep detector, cut a strip of thin fridge magnet and stuck it on the cover with some glue and hey presto, Just like Apple's Smart Cover.
The sleep sensor is right here (red circle) on the right side a 1/4 or so the way down the right side of the iPad 2. Should be super easy to use magnetic tape or take a stealthy approach and do a little cut and sew to get a small magnet hidden in your case/cover of choice.Over on Ipadforums.net someone has just found the sleep detector, cut a strip of thin fridge magnet and stuck it on the cover with some glue and hey presto, Just like Apple's Smart Cover.
Bumping this. Wondering if anybody else has gotten this and what they think. Strongly considering this.
I just placed an order.
It looks like the best case out there for me.
It's thin and resembles a smart cover, which I like but think is overpriced and provides no protection for the back side. I also used the groupon to get it for $14. Can't wait to get. Thanks for the thread op.
Would you mind sharing how you got the coupon? I downloaded the groupon app and didn't see this in there. Thanks!
Like another poster mentioned, using the case as a stand to watch videos or such does not work properly. The iPad falls over onto its back. I talked to MacAlly about it and they suggested that perhaps something was wrong with my particular unit. Looking at it, I tend to doubt it. I think that it is a fundamental design flaw. There is no groove or slot for the edge of the front cover that forms the prop for the iPad so the cover simply unfolds and the iPad falls over.
I think that they are going to send me a replacement, but I am not very optimistic about the result. Meanwhile, I've ordered the STM Skinny case, which seems similar but uses a flap to lock the stand in place and also provides the sleep/wake functionality.
