What made the six units different than each other, other than color?
Nothing. Simply more units for people to try out.
That's not terrible. If 1.3Ghz version gets above 2,500 single core - it puts it in the territory of 2013/2014 MBA.
But why would you expect that the 1.3GHz would be above 2500 single core when the 1.2GHz dropped down to 2200 compared to the 1.1GHz which got 2400 single core?
I expect the 1.3GHz to be down to 2100 or 2000 in single core. They don't get better with increasing frequency because the additional turbo generated heat throttles the CPU more resulting in overall slowing performance. Geekbench tests are mostly continuous loading of the CPU.
You have latched onto a few outlier results and wrongly extrapolated them onto higher clocked 1.3Ghz chips, which we haven't even seen yet. While ignoring the higher 1.2Ghz results which have been quoted throughout the thread.
No, on average 1.2Ghz and 1.3Ghz chips won't be "slower" than 1.1Ghz.
I would want to see the 1.3 scores before ordering any version. What if the 1.3 is way faster?
Also isn't the 1.3 the only one that supports intel's new vpro?

Just order one like a man.
BTW, just out of curiosity, what does VPro usually mean for the ordinary people ?

2831 and 5567 according to this thread https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1871570/
